While writing my thesis for my Masters at the London College of Fashion, I became obsessed with the idea of the uncanny. The obsession continues to this day but it’s first incarnation was as a series of obelisks inhabiting the waters of the deep sea: hybrid creatures that would eventually live a second life on the garments of my final collection.

Character Design has become a large part of what informs my work that I create outside of the fashion industry. I love to imagine secret lives for the creatures that inhabit my ceramics and occasionally I create series of illustrations based around those ideas for children’s textiles.

While studying at Central Saint Martins, I created a collection based off of the film, City of Lost Children. I created a series of illustrations loosely inspired by Rube Goldberg and the idea of a series of machines invented to steal the dreams from children and animals. These eventually formed the basis for the surface decoration in the collection, becoming prints, embroideries and layered fabrics.
